Free Tours for People Caring for Others

Everyone at Invisible Cities is very excited to start offering unpaid carers free walking tours in Edinburgh and Glasgow, as part of our Community Tour Offering.

We are proud to be partnering with RESPITALITY, a simple, yet powerful, initiative which offers unpaid carers in Scotland a much-needed break, through meaningful connections with local hospitality, tourism and leisure businesses who are willing to donate a break free of charge.

Unpaid carers are now able to attend Invisible Cities walking tours free of charge in Edinburgh and Glasgow, either at a date and time of their choice (alongside other customers) or during specially scheduled tours for everyone to enjoy together. There are already 2 group tours organised for May 2025.

Thanks to our other partner, Axiom Hospitality, we are able to offer those tours free of charge for people to attend, but are still able to cover our basic costs, such as our guides’ salaries. Through their “Meet with Purpose” initiative, Axiom invites their hotel guests to contribute to these tours when reserving their meeting spaces and services.

Invisible Cities’ founder and CEO, Zakia says: “We are incredibly thankful to our friends at Axiom for their long term support as it means we are able to work on collaborative initiatives like our work with Respitality. We want to support people who make it their lives to support others and if they can escape for a couple of hours through our tours, then we will have filled our mission.”

The "Respitality" logo, featuring the slogan "make a carer's day," is adorned with icons like TV, drink, scissors, and more—symbolizing a world of possibilities. With a focus on caring for others, it hints at free tours and delightful experiences awaiting deserving carers.
