Leith is a vibrant and yet lesser-known part of Edinburgh. At Invisible Cities, we have a Leith expert and local legend: Paul! After he started with his Trainspotting Generation tour (based on the films and books) he has now developed this tour of Leith so every guest can discover the lesser-known and less-politically-correct stories of Leith. You'll learn about Leith's connections with other parts of the world and the many issues it still faces today.
Warning: this tour contains topics that may not be suitable for young children, such as drug use. However, we can adapt it to a younger audience.
Start at the Scottish Merchant Navy Memorial, in the Shore.
The tour will take you through Leith, formerly separated from Edinburgh but known today to be one of the most vibrant and community-led area of the capital.
You will finish on Leith Walk, one of Scotland's most cosmopolitan areas, where many restaurants, bars, cafés are ready to welcome you for a hot drink!
