Award Nomination for Good Organisation CIC

We are delighted to announce that Good Organisation CIC, our partner in York, has been nominated in the Start Up Category for the SEYH (Social Enterprise Yorkshire and the Humber) Awards.

The award ceremony, that will take place on March 12th at The Corn Exchange, Leeds, recognises social enterprises making great social impact in their fields. The Start Up Category is for those who are less than two years as of December 2019, and which have a plan to develop their business with a clear vision and growth model.

Good Organisation CIC organises Invisible (York) walking tours, with wonderful guides Miles, Vicki, Gemma and Miles, with more to come. But they also run other innovative projects in the city, always engaging with people experiencing homelessness, but using photography, design, or tourism generally. Zakia, Invisible Cities’ founder says “It is wonderful to see the recognition the team in York is receiving. We work closely together when it comes to Invisible (York) tours but they also inspire us with the many innovative and edgy projects they come up with and deliver in the city, to support its most vulnerable people. We will keep our fingers crossed for the award!”

Kenny, Good Organisation CIC’s Director says: “We’re absolutely delighted to be shortlisted for the SEYH Start Up Award, which is really a recognition of the hard work that our tour guides and other project participants have put in over the past year. Many have gone from being completely ignored on the streets, to suddenly receiving glowing five-star reviews on TripAdvisor and other tourism sites. Now they’re being invited along to award ceremonies, which further boosts their confidence and self esteem. The best thing is, that there are no real losers when it comes to Social Enterprise Awards. All of those nominated do tremendously important work which benefits their local communities, and we’re proud to be part of that approach.”
