The whole team at Invisible Cities is in celebration mode! Over the last few weeks, awards nominations and wins have been coming in from all over the country!
In Manchester, Invisible (Manchester) won the The Spirit of Manchester Awards in the Inspiring Campaign Category in early October. The Awards celebrate and highlight all the excellent work being carried out in Manchester’s voluntary, community and social enterprise sector. The team feel honoured to have their work recognized in such a strong category with other shortlisted organisations being The Booth Centre and Cracking good Food.
As Invisible (Manchester) approaches it’s first anniversary, Alice, Head of Invisible (Manchester), says: “The Spirit of Manchester Awards evening has been a highlight of our year so far. It was inspirational to take part in a big party celebrating the amazing work of volunteers and staff at the heart of Manchester’s communities. I never expected to be here in just 11 months!”
In Scotland, as we were announcing recently, Invisible Cities won Social Enterprise of the Year in The Barclays Awards and is now in the national final that will take place on October 10th. We have also been shortlisted for the UK Social Enterprise Awards, the Thistle Awards, the Business Women Scotland Awards and our founder Zakia has been shortlisted as a Social Enterprise champion at the Scotland Social Enterprise Awards.
Commenting on all of these, she says: “Awards are a great recognition of all the hard work done by our team, our guides and volunteers throughout the year. The ceremonies are also a great opportunities to meet our peers and spread the word about our mission. We can’t believe all this recognition!”
