The whole team at Invisible (Edinburgh) is recovering from a very busy week after delivering walking tours to nearly 100 delegates of the TedSummit 2019 Conference- that took place from July 21st to 25th in the Scottish Capital.
For those of you who don’t know, TED is a global community of people interested in how ideas can improve the world. Every few years, TEDSummit gathers over 1,000 members of that community for five days of performances, workshops, brainstorming, outdoor activities, future-focused discussions and an eclectic program of TED Talks. Attendees at TEDSummit include the most engaged TED friends, TED Fellows, TED-Ed educators, TEDx organizers and more, including more than 150 past TED speakers.
TEDSummit brings together TED community members who contribute to our mission of spreading ideas.
During the Conference, delegates were given the opportunity to go on our Women of Edinburgh, Crimes & Punishment and Trainspotting tours as well as attending Q&A sessions with our Founder Zakia. Those who chose the Trainspotting tour were in for a surprise with Scottish actor Ewen Bremner (Spud in the Trainspotting films) posing for a photo at the end of their experience.
Feedback from participants has been extraordinary with some describing our tours as the “best thing [they] had done all week”. Knowing how inspirational some of the Ted Talks they also attended were, this is a fantastic compliment. They also described our team as “most professional and passionate” which is a true testament to the hard work of our guides.
