Danny Writes His Own Poetry Book: "Off the Cobbles"

Written on July 19, 2019

Danny Collins, our very own Invisible (Manchester) guide, wrote his first poem over four years ago. Now, his collection of poetry has been published in his first book called ‘Off the Cobbles’.

The book is a deeply-moving firsthand account of homelessness in modern Britain. Danny’s poems of love, loss and acceptance reconnect us with what it means to be human. To fall, fail and recover.

This book was funded by tour sales of Invisible (Manchester) since October 2018. Now on sale on our website and at the end of each of Danny's tours, half of the proceeds of the book will be donated to the Booth Centre which is a Manchester-based homelessness charity that has helped Danny and thousands of others get back on their feet.

This book would not have been possible without Alice Swift, her dedication and care for the project was invaluable. Another thank you to Keith Finch and Ian Fuller from Paperengine for offering to help in the printing of the book.

The book will cost £10 and will be available for sale at the end of Danny’s ‘Off the Cobbles’ tour or alternatively you can order a book on our online shop available here.
